The event starts and finishes outside the Sandcastle Water Park (Promenade, Blackpool, FY4 1BB)
The Santa Dash officially starts at 11am, but we encourage all participants to joins us from 10am to enjoy all the pre-event festivities, have their photo taken and take part in our warm up!
The route is approximately 2km
From the Sandcastle, the route heads north along Blackpool Promenade. The turning point is at The Manchester Pub and back towards the Sandcastle to collect your medal and hot chocolate.
Your participant pack- which you will get a few weeks before the event- will have all the details in as to how to collect your suit.
You don't need to do anything on the day if you've signed up online and have your pack and Santa suit.
If you have any queries about your entry though, or need a suit, please come into the Sandcastle and find the relevant help desk.
Wear whatever you feel comfortable running/ jogging/walking in, however we’d love for you to wear your Santa suit over your clothing! Please remember it is December, so wrap up warm as it can get very cold on the promenade.
One of the best things about Blackpool Santa Dash is that the event is open to everyone!
All we ask is that any participants under the age of 16 are accompanied by a responsible adult, who has also registered for the event.
What's more, you can also bring your dog!
For more information, check out or terms and conditions.
You don't have to run if you don't want to. If you'd prefer to jog or walk, you can!
There's nothing we love more than a dog or two at our event! Please feel free to bring your pooch, just remember that they must be on a lead and any mess must be cleaned up. We also ask that you try and start at the back for safety reasons.
Of course! We do ask that you start at the back though for safety reasons.
Yes. All we ask is that you contact the fundraising team beforehand by telephoning 01253 952556 or by emailing danny.hickes@nhs.net
There are a limited pay and display carparks near to the Sandcastle, where the event starts and finishes. These are likely to fill up fast though. With this in mind, you may need to arrive well ahead of the event to bag a spot.
If you're able to, we strongly suggest car sharing or using public transport. The tram runs all the way from Fleetwood to Starr Gate, and stops outside the Sandcastle Waterpark.
Toilets can be accessed at the start and finish, inside The Sandcastle Waterpark.
We take your safety seriously and first aid support will be both en-route and at the finish line. Marshals will also be able to assist you if needs be. Please go to your nearest marshal or member of staff if you need medical support.
No, but please ensure you complete the medical information on the reverse of your entry number.
A free cup of hot chocolate will be waiting for every participant after the Santa Dash.
We do advise though that you bring your own water for during the Dash.
Your entry will include:
- A Santa suit
- Bespoke medal
- Hot chocolate
As with all our events, there will be at least two volunteer photographers at Blackpool Santa Dash. Members of our Fundraising Team will also be taking photos and capturing video.
Photos will then be shared in a public album on Facebook the week following the event, and linked to in the post-event email. Have a browse through and tag yourself and anyone else you know!
Please note that we don't receive all the photos from our volunteer photographers at the same time. If you think your pic was taken but don't see it online straight away, it might be because we don't have it yet. Please bear with us; we'll upload more as soon as we have them. Equally, the quality of the photo may be poor and the photographer may therefore decided not to share it. As a result, and to avoid disappointment, we strongly encourage participants to take their own photos, or ask one of our volunteers to take one for you!

As this event is all about Santa, we believe every participant should rock their free suit. It is Christmas after all, and there's is nothing better than seeing a sea of Santas running down Blackpool promenade on a Sunday morning!
If, however, you'd just like to wear selected parts of the suit or your own outfit, that's absolutely fine.
One important thing: you MUST pin your Dasher number somewhere and complete the medical information on the back.
Unfortunately, we won't be offering a bag drop at this event.
If you would like to buy food, the Sandcastle's catering services will open selling a range of breakfast items, as well as beverages.
Don't forget we will also be offering all participants a free hot chocolate after they've crossed the finish line!
Everyone is different and we encourage all participants to go at a pace that suits them. On average though this event should take no more than an hour and a half.
Whilst there isn't an official time limit on Santa Dash, we need to have the event packed up the event and cleared the promenade/Sandcastle ready for other visitors. The event is likely to be completely finished by 2pm.
This event takes place on the prom, not on the road.
Your registration fee only covers the cost of you taking part and help us to put the event on. As a result, we kindly ask every participant to try and raise sponsorship.
100% of the money raised will go directly to Brian House Children's Hospice.
There is no minimum or maximum amount you have to raise, but we ask everyone to aim for £30. You can also raise sponsorship as an individual or as part of a team (you can let us know when you fill out the registration form).
The easiest way to raise sponsorship is through JustGiving, but you can also do it offline using our paper sponsorship form.
We understand that not everyone wants or is able to raise sponsorship, which is why offer you the chance to make a one-off donation instead.
You can do this here at any point
If you have a JustGiving page and/or Facebook Fundraiser, you don't need to do anything! Your page will automatically close a few weeks after the event has taken place and the money will come straight to us.
If you've collected money offline, there are a few ways you can get it to us:
- Bank it all and then donate online here (please make sure you reference 'Santa Dash 2024' in the reason box).
- Bring it to the hospice along with your details so we know who to credit (Low Moor Road, Bispham, FY2 0BG)
- Send a cheque in the post made out to Brian House Children’s Hospice. Please make sure you include a piece of paper which has your full name, address and phone number on, as well as the reference 'Santa Dash 2024'.
If you've signed up for Blackpool Colour Run but haven't been receiving emails, there's a chance you've unsubscribed from our mailing list at some point.
This means you will NOT receive any communications, as the system will not allow us to contact you.
If you think this may be you, don't worry. We can get you re-subscribed! Just drop us a message with your email address and full name.
The safety of our participants, staff, volunteers and crew is paramount to us. Whilst a bit of cold or rain wouldn't get in the way, we do have to be conscious of the wind and storms as these make the event unsafe.
Any major changes to an event will be communicated via social media, our Colour Run webpage and through emails. Please keep an eye on them leading up to and on the morning of the event.
